Power Plant Engineer
SmartLynx Airlines is looking for an experienced and driven Power Plant Engineer to join our team. In this role, you’ll play a crucial part in maintaining engine and APU performance across our growing fleet. Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor engine and APU condition trends, fleet performance, and initiate corrective actions.
- Manage defect rectification instructions and evaluate airworthiness directives.
- Oversee non-mandatory service bulletins and prepare reliability data reports.
- Support safety and reliability investigations.
- Manage delivery and redelivery projects, ensuring timely and compliant transitions.
- Support and participate in C-checks and Borescope Inspections (BSI) as required.
- Assist in structuring and reviewing maintenance and lease agreements.
- Supervise repairs, modifications, and engine shop visits, and liaise with OEMs and external partners.
- Monitor subcontracted activities to ensure compliance with SmartLynx standards and regulations.
- Implement and control Engine and APU LLPs using the OASES system.
- Provide technical guidance to ensure safe, cost-effective, and timely return-to-service.
Requirements:
- Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Power Plant Engineer.
- Degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Experience with at least one engine type: CFM56-5B, V2500, Trent 700, or LEAP-1 B.
- Strong knowledge of turbofan engines, failure analysis, and APU systems.
- Ability to multitask, solve problems, and work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with EASA Part-145 and Part-M/Part-CAMO regulations.
- Proficient in English and comfortable with technical software.
