AOG Desk Supervisor
SmartLynx Airlines is looking for an experienced and proactive AOG Desk Supervisor to join our Technical Operations team in Malta. In this vital role, you will oversee the coordination of urgent and critical aircraft material needs, lead a high-performing team, and ensure smooth communication across departments. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in aviation logistics and leadership to play a key role in supporting flight operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the AOG Desk team, including AOG Coordinators and AOG Materials Controllers, ensuring timely and efficient resolution of AOG and urgent material requests.
- Allocate team resources based on operational priorities, maintaining focus on critical, urgent, and potential AOG situations.
- Act as the main point of contact for urgent supply and logistics needs, collaborating with internal teams and external partners.
- Manage the full process of material requests—from intake to sourcing, procurement, logistics coordination, and delivery.
- Support and monitor the AOG Materials Controllers in meeting service-level expectations for both internal and external customers.
- Coordinate with the Warehouse, Maintenance Control Center (MCC), Operations Control Center (OCC), line maintenance, vendors, and logistics providers to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain accurate records and real-time updates in inventory systems for full traceability.
- Train and mentor new team members, promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Identify and implement improvements in processes and workflows to enhance responsiveness and operational effectiveness.
Requirements:
- At least 2 years of experience in inventory, logistics, warehouse, or supply chain operations; experience in aviation material control is a strong advantage.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in commercial aviation logistics or a related aircraft supply chain role.
- Proficiency in ERP or inventory management systems.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to prioritize and perform under pressure.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team and take the lead when required.
- Flexible approach to working hours and job responsibilities.
- Strong commercial awareness and decision-making skills in sourcing and logistics.
- Willingness to embrace change and actively drive improvements within the business.
- High attention to detail and a solution-oriented mindset.
